Fonterra Takaka WWTP Upgrade

Owned and operated by Fonterra New Zealand, the Takaka Waste Water Treatment Plant is capable of treating up to 1 million litres per day of factory effluent to a suitable quality for irrigation. The project included the installation two new 250m3 waste water storage reservoirs, pumps and associated infrastructure.

Process Flow Limited was engaged as a first tier supplier to Fonterra on an EPC contract basis. We were responsible for the following:

  • Full FES Compliant Design
  • Detailed Process Design
  • Civil and Structural Design
  • Electrical and Controls Design
  • Procurement of all new equipment
  • Construction
  • Commissioning
  • FES Compliant PLC and SCADA System

The project was delivered on time and on budget and allows Fonterra to better manage their factory effluent. The upgrade also allows the site operators to safely access and clean the tanks from an overhead gantry.
